4 Bit Synthesizer

Built a 4-bit synthesizer together with a friend, based on this project. We assembled it on a breadboard, still need to transfer it to a PCB. It is based on an ATMega48 microcontroller, and the sound is generated through a R-2R ladder DAC (the resistors soldered into a chunk in the picture)

The synth is controlled via MIDI, and can generate a single voice in one of 4 waveforms at a time. Several synths can be daisychained to be controlled via one MIDI connector and feed a single output though, so hopefully once we get to soldering everything together we can do that.

Figure – The Monsters Revenge

I have been liking all of Figures releases so far, and this latest one is no exception. The baselines are absolutely exaggerated and somehow that goes well with the ridiculous soundbites from old horror flicks.

Gare du Nord

Carte Blanche, which is DJ Mehdi and Riton, bring us this nice mix of typical Ed Banger electro and old-school hiphop samples. They  just released an EP titled Black Billionaires on Ed Banger Records. This is the first track, called Gare du Nord.

Lazerproof!

This came out about a week ago(I tweeted), which is about 20 internet years, but I thought I’d put it up anyway. It’s a collaboration between Major Lazer and La Roux. It’s really surprising how well they go together.
